$249 a Year in Missouri, for a Job With Exactly Three Duties

The Name Is Worth Something

Start with what is genuinely true. LegalZoom is the most recognized brand in online legal services, and recognition is not nothing. A founder who has never bought a filing service before, who has no way to sort the credible providers from the ones that will vanish next spring, can pick the household name and be confident the company still exists in five years. That confidence has value, particularly for somebody buying alone at eleven at night. We are a smaller operation with a narrower job. If brand comfort is the thing you are shopping for, buy it honestly and skip the rest of this page.

What the Comfort Costs

LegalZoom prices the agent role at $249 annually. The charge is flat, it renews without being asked, and our July 2026 review located no opening discount anywhere along the purchase path. That is the steepest fixed yearly figure on our list, running $150 past ours every twelve months for duties that do not shift from one vendor to another.

Here is where Missouri makes the premium harder to defend than it would be elsewhere. A large share of what national providers charge for is compliance labor, and their price is set once for the whole country, with the heavy paperwork states pulling the average upward. Your Missouri LLC contributes nothing to that average. No yearly filing, no every-other-year substitute, no registration renewal, and no franchise tax reaching an LLC from the Secretary of State. Which leaves no recurring document at all for a $249 subscription to prepare, calendar, or submit for you. What the money actually covers here is an address, somebody reachable during business hours, and fast forwarding. Three duties. Precisely the three a $90 provider is equally obligated to perform.

For a sense of scale, look at what Missouri charges its own corporations for actual paperwork. A for-profit corporation's yearly registration report costs $15 filed electronically, or $40 on paper, under RSMo 351.125. LLCs are exempt from that filing entirely. So the state's price for processing a real annual document from a real corporation is fifteen dollars, while the premium a Missouri LLC would pay LegalZoom over this site, for filing nothing at all, is ten times that.
