The Speed Is Not in Dispute

Swyft Filings built a business on getting formations out the door quickly, and their process reflects that. Order flow is short, the handoffs are tight, and customers who want a company standing up in days rather than weeks generally get what they came for. Nothing on this page questions the operational side. The disagreement is entirely about how the agent service is billed and what that billing looks like once you finish the multiplication.

Read the Quote, Then Read the Billing Period

The advertised figure is $149. The interval attached to it is a quarter, not a year. Four of those arrive across twelve months, which annualizes to roughly $596, and our July 2026 review located no separate first-year rate softening it.

Quarterly pricing is persuasive because of how it reads. One hundred forty-nine dollars lands next to a hundred-dollar annual competitor and looks like the same neighborhood. Five hundred ninety-six dollars does not. Same money, different presentation, and the presentation is doing real work. Before comparing this against anything, do the multiplication first.

Twelve months on that plan costs about what six consecutive years cost here.

Put That Against What Missouri Asks Of You

The contrast is worth sitting with. Under the quarterly plan, your Missouri LLC generates four billing events every year. The Missouri Secretary of State generates zero. No annual report exists for an LLC in this state, no biennial version, no periodic registration, and no franchise tax. Nothing is due, ever, on any schedule.

Missouri does run one genuinely recurring business registration, and it is not yours unless you are a partnership. A limited liability partnership's registration lapses twelve months after filing and has to be renewed under RSMo 358.440, with the renewal scaling by partner count. That single filing is the closest thing the state has to an annual cycle, and an LLC never touches it. Which leaves a strange picture: the entity with no state deadlines at all, paying a vendor on the tightest billing cycle in the category.

One Payment, One Number, No Rounds

Our plan collects $99 once a year and reads $99 the next time. Nothing is billed in installments, and nothing shifts at renewal because there is no second tier to be moved onto. Documents served on us at the Missouri registered office are scanned and posted to your account the day they land, with the email notification going out alongside. On your public record, the registered office entry shows our Missouri address rather than yours. Extra mail scanning is the lone optional line item at $15 for each piece, written down here so it cannot ambush you later.

The limit of our claim, stated plainly: BetterLegal advertises $90 a year, so cheapest is a word we cannot use. What survives is that our $99 is among the least expensive flat yearly rates anybody publishes for this state, and that it comes to roughly a sixth of four quarterly invoices.

What Missouri Requires to Replace Swyft Filings

The state uses one short statement, filed as form Corp. 59, and prices it at ten dollars for limited liability companies and corporations alike, with partnerships sitting on a separate fee line. The finished statement goes to the Secretary of State's Corporations Division here in Missouri, and it can move the agent, the registered office, or both in the same filing.

One instruction on that form governs your timing. Your incoming agent signs it, or written consent accompanies the filing, which means the successor must already be under contract before the document can be finished. That is a helpful constraint rather than an obstacle. It guarantees there is never a moment where your entity has no agent, because Swyft stays on the record and stays responsible until the Corporations Division processes the new statement.
